Zcash Meetups is a free, community-made toolkit for people who want to meet in person and talk about private digital cash. It brings together one simple playbook, a library of printable materials, a directory of groups and events, and a friendly helper that answers organising questions. Our goal is to make it easy for anyone, anywhere, to start a meetup, and to make every meetup that exists easy to find.

Why this exists#

Starting a meetup can feel lonely. Where do you meet? What do you say? What should you print? How do you keep people safe? How does anyone find you? Regional communities around the world have each answered these questions, often from scratch.

This site tries to be shared infrastructure. One set of guides, one asset library and one directory that every region can use, and that no region owns. If you already run a community, we hope this makes your work a little easier and a little more visible. We're here to help, not to compete.

Community-run, not official#

Zcash Meetups is run by volunteers. It is not official and doesn't speak for anyone else in the Zcash ecosystem. Every group listed here is independent and run by its own organisers.

Community-made. Not affiliated with or endorsed by the Zcash Foundation or any Zcash company. Zcash and the Zcash logo are trademarks used in accordance with the Zcash trademark policy.

Nothing on this site is financial advice. We don't discuss markets, and we never tell anyone what to do with their money. We focus on privacy, technology and community.

What we believe#

  • Privacy is normal. Wanting your finances to be your own business is as ordinary as closing your curtains.
  • Organisers come first. Every page should answer "what do I do next?"
  • Safety by default. Nobody asks for seed phrases, nobody touches other people's wallets, and nobody legitimate DMs first.
  • Free for everyone. All guides and printable materials are free. The optional starter pack is a convenience, set to cover its costs.
  • Global from day one. Meetups happen in many languages, and so should this site.

Standing on others' shoulders#

How you can help#

Start or list a meetup#

The best way to help is to bring people together. Read Your first meetup in 7 steps, or add your existing group to the directory.

Improve translations#

Many pages start as machine translations and need a human eye. If you speak one of our languages, you can suggest fixes through our GitHub repository at github.com/onemanbillion/zec-meetups (يُفتح في علامة تبويب جديدة). Look for the "Help improve this translation" link on any translated page. You don't need to be a developer to open an issue.

Become a regional partner#

If you coordinate a Zcash community for a country or language, you can claim your region's page. Regional partners can verify local groups, keep regional information up to date and see aggregate numbers for their area. Look for "claim this region" on your region's page, or get in touch.

Report problems#

Spotted a mistake in a guide, a broken link, or a group that looks suspicious? Use the "report this group" link on any group page, open an issue on GitHub (يُفتح في علامة تبويب جديدة), or email us. We take scam reports seriously and act on them quickly.

Share your numbers#

After each meetup, organisers can file a two-minute report. We only collect rough, anonymous numbers, never attendee names. Together they show what meetups achieve on our impact page.

Privacy on this site#

We practise what we teach. This site uses no third-party trackers or advertising, stores as little personal data as possible, and never shows organisers' email addresses publicly. Group locations on the map are approximate unless an organiser chooses to show a public venue. Read our code of conduct for how we expect everyone to treat each other.

Contact#

You can reach the volunteers behind this site at hello@example.org. We're a small team, so please be patient. We read everything.
